23,000 job cuts

I was reading the Times today and it said that 23,000 jobs will be cut and 15,000 job cuts for teachers. This situation is very serious and as you can see the economy is getting weaker and weaker according to Abcnews.com they say With tax revenues continuing to drop, New York City faces a $4 billion deficit for fiscal year 2010 and could resort to layoffs and attrition from the city's 310,000-member workforce to close the gap, city officials said late Thursday. as you can see this will affect millions just in a month. But my question is how did this all start? well, my best guess is um.... i don't know really, its hard for me to know but the questions has already been answered me as a concerd American am scared for not just me but the united states itself. This is already called the second great depression but my answer to that is we can still fight this. The job cuts can be reduced dramatically if the president of the united states of America works real herd and focuses in the economy. But we also have to think, like buying things that we really need and buy things that are cheaper. And in these economic times i think my words are good for now The cuts and layoffs could result in the elimination of more than 23,000 jobs, and or just more than 6.5 percent of the current workforce, now we really now how the people in the great depression felt but now we wont have to experience it just feel it.
