The Little Island that cant be missed

http://www.waterfrontmuseum.org/img/tales/city-island-1933-400.jpgCity Island in the Bronx is a little patch of land that stands in the Long Island sound, But theres more to know about it then you think. The islands nickname is called "Cinema island" And it earns its name, because the island was featured in many movies and this years the island will be on the Big screen in this years anticipated movie "City Island" the movie is about a dysfunctional family living on City Island, the little-known fishing village located in the Bronx. It also shows you the typical male midlife crisis story. Writer/director Raymond De Felitta is a great storyteller and it's such a pleasure to visit his City Island and spend a few hours with the crazy but lovable Rizzos. The movie is going to be great. But what i really enjoy about this island is that it really connects to city life even if its really a little village. It resembles a miniature Bronx and its really a great place to just hang out and enjoy the sights. What cant you find on City island?

City island bridge
http://wirednewyork.com/bridges/city_island_bridge/city_island_bridge.jpgMy ultimate favorite area of City island it the city island bridge, The bridge is an amazing place because its the only bridge that connects the island to the mainland. Everyone in the island depends on the bridge, There has been lots of rumors that city island is at verge of flooding. So with this bridge its really whats going to help the people if an event like this was really to happened. But as of last year there was another rumor,

New city island bridge design

The city of new york plans to demolish the bridge, due to its rusting and cracking conditions, and replace it with a larger cable-stayed bridge. Some commuters also have reported of the bridge shaking when they drove over the bridge. the project is now scheduled to start in 2011.
